For those of you, like me, who are forever filled with a sense of wanderlust, it’s been more about armchair travel these days rather than getting on a plane. Today, we are escaping to the storied Château de Chantilly in France courtesy of a new book, A Day at Château de Chantilly: The Estate and Gardens of the Duke of Aumale by Mathieu Deldicqueand Adrien Goetz (Flammarion). This beautifully composed book, which makes for a great gift, gives readers a rare look into the impressive art collection, gardens—by André Le Nôtre, who also designed the Versailles gardens—and stables of this castle rebuilt after the Revolution by Henri d'Orléans, Duke of Aumale. With each page, glimpse into the gilded interiors filled with art, and decorative objects, many from the private apartments. Here is a look inside this immaculate destination.
