A Tulip Study Part I | 'Webers' Parrot Tulip

Parrot tulips are destined to be photographed.  I first discovered this distinct flower incorporated into Dutch still life paintings during my art history days in college. I couldn't be happier that they are in season right now at the flower market.  Today is the first installment of a three-part series profiling different varieties of this beautiful bloom, beginning with  'Weber's' Parrot Tulip.  This bloom has a delicate lime green exterior with an interior that is painted the faintest pink shade.  What makes the Parrot tulip different from a normal tulip is the coiled, turned-in edges that resemble a parrot.  I hope that you enjoy this series and let me know which you like the best!

*Have you ever purchased tulips and they begin to droop immediately after placing them into the vase? Next time, insert a pin into the stem right below the flower head. This will allow for the water to make its way to the petals.  You will have upward facing flowers in no time!
