An Easter Cake | Lemon Cake with Lemon Buttercream

When it comes to desserts I lean towards chocolate or lemon.  When I want to have a decadent dessert I prefer the former but if I want something refreshing and pairs well after pasta, I gravitate towards citrus.  I made this cake for my sister in laws birthday - a light and airy white cake scented with lemon and topped with whipped vanilla buttercream and decorated it with yellow tea roses.  If you are looking for a great seasonal recipe this Easter, I recommend this cake!

* I opted to make this in two pan sizes and added layers of buttercream between each layer. Here the recipe calls for two 9-inch pans for ease! But you can definitely mix the cake pan sizes for a different look.
