A Peek Inside CarolinA K's New Boutique In Riviera Maya

Caroline Kleinman, the Miami-based designer, by way of Argentina, who has built a following with her eponymous and sustainable brand Carolina K, known for its breezy dresses, vibrant kaftans, and swimwear fashioned from recycled PET bottles, returns to Mexico with the opening of her second boutique. Nestled among the verdant mangroves in the newly opened Etéreo Auberge Resort in Mexico’s Riviera Maya’s on the Yucatan Peninsula, the designer, who once called Tepoztlán, a town outside Mexico City home, pays homage to Mayan culture and Mexican craftsmanship by stocking the store with one-of-a-kind pieces from like-minded artists from the region, alongside her ready-to-wear collection and interior finds. The interiors are marked with earthen-hued textural alcoves, which serve as display shelves, made from chukum, an age-old Mayan stucco technique; the tables are rendered from rough-hewn wood created by Daniel Melero from Mestiz and Tulum-based Daniel Orozco Studio crafted clothing racks and jewelry displays from Jabin wood and copper. Here is a peak inside the airy shop.
