When it comes to pairings chocolate has many of them - peanut butter, peppermint, salt, almonds, the list could go on and on, bacon anyone? The latter really disgusts me but I heard it is delicious! To usher in the holiday festivities I decided to create a Dark Chocolate & Peppermint pie that combined the flavors of the season by combining rich dark chocolate with cooling peppermint. When served warm the center of the pie takes on a pudding-like consistency that is perfectly complimented with hints of peppermint. Serve with a dollop of freshly whipped cream and you will be the star at your next holiday gathering.
